Hi, my name is Matías Aránguiz. I am planning to use this website as a repository of cases —legal and not yet legal — related to Artificial Intelligence. My idea is to keep me updated and force me to summarise cases that I found references in different publications.
I am a Chilean Lawyer living in Shanghai and working towards finishing my S.J.D (fancy name of a Ph.D. in law) at Shanghai Jiaotong University, under the supervision of professor Xu Duoqi. Before my doctoral studies, I got a Master in Finance at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and an LLB from the Catholic University of Chile.
The focus of my research is the regulation of Artificial Intelligence in Finance, in particular, the case of Algorithmic Trading and High-Frequency Trading.
I have had the opportunity to teach at MIT together with Leilani Gilpin a course named “Artificial Intelligence and Global Risks” and at Fudan University together with professor Xu Duoqi a course about Regulation of Fintech and Artificial Intelligence. Currently, I am preparing a class for Central Bankers organized by the Centre of Alternative Finance at Cambridge University.
